Services
Bright Journeys OT provides a range of Occupational Therapy services for children primarily aged between 3-12.
Occupational Therapy assists with achieving goals related to the performance of daily life activities. In the context of Occupational Therapy, "occupations" are not just jobs, but all the meaningful activities that fill a person's day. For children this may include the following areas of support:
Self-care & daily living skills
Support for age-appropriate independence in dressing, toileting, sleeping, feeding and hygiene routines.
Participation at school and early education settings
Support for classroom participation through transitions, routines, focus, interactions, attention, sensory support and motor skills. Assessment and support for motor activities such as drawing, handwriting, scissor use, grasping and manipulating small objects, etc.
Home and community participation
Assessments and tools to support participation at home and in the community, for example engaging in family activities, appropriate play across all environments, interactions, routines, emotional and behaviour support, etc.
Caregiver coaching & home/school programs
Equipping families with strategies and activities to continue therapy at home and other settings.
Assessments & reports
Evaluations of motor, sensory and functional behaviour for individualised planning or school support.
Liaising with other professionals to support the child’s goals
Bright Journeys OT is able to provide information and liaise with other professionals involved in the child’s care (with consent from the caregiver).
